Idea Launched Unlimited Plans arena, launches Rs. 899, Rs. 1299 and Rs.1599 Unlimited Calling Plans

Idea Cellular has joined the league of telecom operators offering Unlimited Plans be launching 3 Unlimited Postpaid Plan starting at Rs. 899 and offering All Local & STD Calls FREE. The newly launched postpaid plans by Idea are exactly similar to the plans already launched by Reliance and Tata DOCOMO but with a Fair Usage Policy. Read on for more details.

Idea Unlimited 899 Plan

First among the 3 new plans is the Unlimited Local & STD Calls plan that comes with a monthly rental of Rs. 899. It comes woth fair usage plicy that stands at 4000 Local & STD Minutes & 1000 Roaming Mobile Mins along with 450 Local & National SMS

Idea Unlimited 1299 Plan

Second in line is the Unlimited 1299 Plan that offers the same benefits as Unlimited 899 Plan along with 5GB 3G Data. As the name only suggest, it monthly rental has been fixed at Rs. 1299 (plus taxes).

Idea Unlimited 1599 Plan

The last Unlimited Plan launched by Idea is the Unlimited 1599 Plan that comes with a monthly rental of Rs. 1599 and offers 10000 Local, STD & Roaming Mobile Mins, 8 GB 3G Data (overage 3p/10kb) and 1000 Local & National SMS.

Comparison with Reliance and Tata DOCOMO Unlimited Plans:
If you compare the Idea Unlimited 899 with the same priced Unlimited 899 Plan from Tata DOCOMO, you will find that apart from the same calling benefits without FUP (in Tata), you will get 450 Local & National SMS Free also. Comparing the same with Reliance Unlimited 899 plan you would find no other difference apart from enhanced FUP in Reliance TRULY Unlimited 899 Plan (6000 mins).

Similarly in Unlimited 1299 Plan Tata DOCOMO is offering 6000 Local & National SMS, 2G 3G Data and Unlimited therafter at 2G Speeds and All Local & STD Calls without any Fair Usage Policy. On the other hand, Reliance is offering 6000 Local & National SMS, 5GB 2G Data and 6000 Min FUP.

As you can now see it is really very difficult to compare these plans but what i think is that Idea has definitely better coverage than Reliance and Tata DOCOMO, so it has an edge over the other two. But personally i feel that Tata DOCOMO GSM 1299 Unlimited Plan is the best since it is not having any Fair Usage Policy.
